The Archeologist

The Archeologist is the unwitting catalyst for the entire Xylocats project, a highly skilled and trained agent from the Agency in 2400 Earth. Before the societal collapse, he was an elite explorer, tasked with technical analysis and reverse-engineering on distant planets. When civilization fell into the "second dark ages," he became disillusioned, spending his time surviving in the massive underground networks powered by geothermal energy, reminiscing about the freedom of space travel.

His expertise as a "swiss army knife of explorers" allowed him to crack the secrets of a high-clearance bunker that had survived the solar flare event. After weeks of tireless work, he used his advanced quantum tools and a forgotten cipher to breach the central vault. Inside, he discovered a mysterious, large circular chamber with a central console receiving a large red laser beam from above, illuminating a device covered in "tiny twinkly lights." It was this mysterious device, a non-standard alien or forgotten Earth technology, that pontaneously broadcast his discovery across the cosmos, establishing the initial contact. His accidental transmission of data, a massive burst detailing the Xylocats' Ancestral data, provided Hex Luthor with the very first packets of information that were quickly archived and minted on the blockchain, forever marking The Archeologist as the project's original data steward.
